Cama Beach Cafe, located at 1880 SW Camano Dr., on Camano Island, WA, is looking for hosts/hostesses to join its strong team. Our ideal candidates are self-starters who are ambitious and hard-working.
 

Responsibilities

• Greets guests upon arrival, escorts them to their table, provides menu and beer and wine list, and converses with guests in a warm, upbeat, welcoming manner.

• Maximizes guest seating and table turns, ensuring smooth restaurant flow and proper section/server rotation.

• Manages special seating requests that are consistent with availability and anticipates table availability.

• Relays messages to managers, servers, server assistants, or other staff as appropriate (e.g., the guest's birthday, first time here, guest requests, etc.).

• Answers the telephone, gives directions to the restaurant, addresses questions, helps with to-go orders, and takes and maintains reservations and messages.

• Bus and reset tables, pre-bus tables, and refilling guest beverages such as drip coffee, water, etc., as well as assisting guests with their needs or passing guest requests onto the server

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.

• Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.  

• Must speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other Team Members.

• Must possess excellent guest relations skills.

• Previous host/hostess experience is welcome!

• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry bus tubs, dish racks, and trash cans/bags weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent and regular basis. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Must be able to converse with guests in a warm, friendly, gracious manner. Must enjoy guest service, have excellent organization skills, and a sense of timing.

 

Hours

• 16-32 hours per week (2 to 5 days per week)

• Days needed: Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, & Sun (requires a minimum of one Sat or Sun availability per week)
