Cama Beach Cafe, located at 1880 SW Camano Dr., on Camano Island, WA, seeks barista help to join its strong team. Our ideal candidates are self-starters who are ambitious and hard-working.
 

Responsibilities

• Responsible for drink production at the barista station, ensuring all drink items adhere to recipes and presentation specifications.

• Beer, Wine, Wine-Based Drinks, as well as non-alcoholic beverages served

• Set up and stock barista workstations. Set up and cleanup of the area for the current and next shift.

• Maintaining a clean, sanitary work area.

• Response for safe handling and proper storage of beverages and food. Follow health and safety guidelines.

 

Qualifications

• At least six months of experience as a barista either at a coffee stand/kiosk or in a high-volume, full-service restaurant is preferred. Experience with pulling espresso shots, steaming milk, and latte art is highly desirable.

• Can start off learning bussing, hosting, dishwashing, and then be cross-trained as a barista.

• Must be able to stand and work at a fast pace for periods of up to 4 hours. Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach. Must have finger and hand dexterity. Must be able to lift and deliver (to tables) multiple beverages on trays, lift boxes, empty trash bags, and other containers weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. 

• Ability to listen and communicate effectively

• Requires Class 12 or Class 13 MAST Permit to serve alcohol (we have barista positions for those under 18 that do not serve alcohol as well)

• Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment. Must be able to read and memorize drink recipes and techniques, and communicate orally in English.

 

Hours

• 16-32 hours per week (2 to 5 days per week)

• Days needed: Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, & Sun (requires a minimum of one Sat or Sun availability per week)

• $17.00 - $19.00/hr (depending on experience) + tips
